Chun Wo Construction & Engineering Co. Ltd (Chun Wo), a key subsidiary of Chun Wo Development Group, Asia Allied Infrastructure Holdings Limited (stock code: 00711.HK) was founded in 1968. 

 

The Company’s principle business is in Construction and Property Development with professional capability to undertake large integrated construction projects. Recent examples of large infrastructure projects in Hong Kong under taken by Chun Wo includes: the Central-Wan Chai Bypass, Liantang/Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Infrastructure, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Passenger Clearance Building, the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link (Hong Kong Section) and the MTR Shatin to Central Link. 

 

Over the past 50 years, Chun Wo has accumulated extensive experience and a strong position in the construction sector enabling it to expand business to other countries in the “Belt and Road” route in Southeast Asia, such as the acquisition of a Construction and Engineering Consultancy firm in Singapore and contracting the Design and Construction of Aqueduct undertaken in the Philippines.

 

Our Services

Chun Wo has been actively considering adopting innovative BIM technologies to improve their own business process. They believe such technologies can lead them to excel from the industry. MES was honored to be appointed as consultant for 5DBIM (QIM) digital cost management.

 

a) Management Consultancy for Project Delivery Systems

Feasibility workshops were held within different divisions among Chun Wo. Senior management staff were also invited to empower the change commitment. Overall, MES recommended top-down BIM adoption approach. MES’s BIM experts not only gave insightful advice but also helped Chun Wo to develop their own Quantitative Information Modelling (QIM)/5DBIM execution plan and standards. The following deliverables were developed: • Standard Approach of Modelling (SAM) for QIM and Cost Management • BIM for QIM and Cost Management Standard, Workflow • Gap analysis for QIM/5DBIM adoption between current and expected condition • Automation in the daily and strategic cost management • Feasibility study for digital transformation of cost management and QIM

 

b) Research & Development and Professional Training

An agreement for further research development and professional training through the consultancy and feasibility study was made after feasibility workshops. MES then developed QIM software to suit the Chun Wo needs. Meanwhile, MES prepared the training syllabus for different divisions in accordance with different job natures. This syllabus was based on the practical needs as well as other cross-departmental requirements from the corporate digital strategy perspective. Then MES’s expert group delivered customized training to related staff. The training was delivered in a form of project-based training.

c) Change management

MES was responsible for a completed project and an ongoing project to guide Chun Wo as BIM Management Consultant and implement the project delivery systems prepared in the aforementioned guidelines and execution plan
